It’s About Ideas Worth Spreading.
If you’ve attended a TEDx event, you know that feeling — the headVROOM! The brain-speeding rush of ideas, concepts, and questions, steering you toward fresh epiphanies. The wow-inducing wonder of brand new notions, profound connections, and topnotch talent.
Maybe you tried to find a quiet corner during a break to get your bearings. Maybe you stared into the eyes of TEDx compatriots, wide-eyed and a little weary. Maybe you delved into distractions to ease the sounds of your world growing.
However you dealt with it, however you made it through — you also know the end result. The headVROOM generated more headROOM! More space in your world to move around freely, and more space in your mind to learn and create and GO.

TEDx events are organized independently by local teams.
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that brings people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized. (Subject to certain rules and regulations.)
TEDxGreenville was the first TEDx event in South Carolina.
TEDxGreenville began when a diverse, passionate group of TED enthusiasts came together to bring an educational and inspirational experience to Upstate residents. The first annual conference launched to a sold-out crowd on March 5, 2010. The result was a brain-teasing, inspiration-filled, day-long event unlike anything Greenville had ever experienced. Subsequent annual events have been just as popular and engaging. To get a feel for our past events, please browse TEDxTalks on YouTube where all the TEDxGreenville talks and performances are archived.
2015 will be the sixth year for the TEDxGreenville annual conference. The program is comprised of speakers, performers, and TED Talk videos, with the goal of sparking deep discussion and connection among attendees. There are typically 18 to 20 live presenters, most with connections to the Upstate, representing a vast range and breadth of experiences.
TEDxGreenville truly has evolved into a movement, igniting passions and building bridges while highlighting the people and organizations that make the Upstate such an incredible place to live.
