The Opportunity and Asset report does not rate South Carolina well.

South Carolina Association for Community Economic Development (SCACED) is celebrating 20 years of shepherding the community economic development (CED) industry in South Carolina.  For over 12 years, SCACED used the Assets and Opportunity Scorecard produced by the Washington, DC based Corporation for Enterprise Development (CFED) to help us shape our policy and program agenda.  CFED’s 2015 Assets & Opportunity Scorecard offers the most comprehensive look at Americans’ ability to save and build wealth, fend off poverty and create a more prosperous future.  The Scorecard provides rankings for the 50 states and District of Columbia on both the ability of residents to achieve financial security and policies designed to help them get there.  This report aligns with SCACED’s mission of improving the quality of life for low wealth families and communities through asset growth and wealth building.
