Momentum: Creating Healthy Curiosity
Getting to Know the Unknown
Vision 2025 dreams of a Greenville that is open and welcoming to ALL, regardless of what you look like, how much you make, where and if you worship, where you come from, or whom you love.
In the 10 years since Vision 2025 was created, Greenville’s composition has grown and changed dramatically, as many are drawn to a community that values a high quality of life. With the influx of new businesses, families, and cultures, it’s now common to hear foreign languages spoken on Main St., meet individuals from different religious traditions or enjoy cuisine from a different country. In fact, Upstate International highlights, celebrates, and promotes the rich international cultural diversity, heritage, and global connections of Upstate S.C with events and programs throughout March 2015.Read More
In seeking to create an inclusive Greenville, we believe it is necessary to meet the “other,” those who may share different values, heritage, beliefs, etc. to bridge the gap of the unknown. How do we cultivate a healthy curiosity of different cultures? How do we create safe environments for dialogue? How do we develop an appreciation for the rich diversity of individuals who call Greenville home?
We invite you to join us in this important conversation in a safe environment.
Momentum is a monthly series of intimate community conversations on a variety of topics ranging from social services to youth engagement. These conversations encourage us to get involved in the daily happenings of Greenville. By creating conversation and collaborations, these monthly programs create momentum within Vision 2025.
